It was the last Spanish fort built in Uruguay. It houses the Military Museum from 1.916.

Day 1 in Montevideo

On the first day in Montevideo take the opportunity to explore the old center of the city. Start by visiting Plaza Independencia, where important buildings like the Salvo Palace and the beautiful Solis Theater are located.

For soccer lovers, an attraction not to be missed is the Estadio Centenario, located 6 km from Mercado del Puerto. The stadium houses the Soccer Museum.
